Goodwill thinks out of the box. When the marketing team behind Goodwill Greater Washington stores approached us with the idea of putting on a holiday pop up shop in Chinatown we were honored and incredibly impressed with their foresight. With the opening of the pop up at Pepco Edison Gallery this week, Goodwill has proven that they’re not just a neighborhood thrift store, but a forward-looking company that’s flexible and in tune with its customers.
Goodwill partnered with international design firm Gensler to turn the gallery space into a pop up shop wonderland themed on Peace and Goodwill. The decorations include 1,000 hand-folded origami paper cranes floating from the walls and the ceilings, color coded racks of the best hand-picked items from local Goodwill stores, and gift boxes of holiday trinkets (and copies of Worn Magazine Issue 1) meticulously tiered along the walls.
See our photos below for a sneak peek, but better yet, stop in yourself and shop. *The final day of the Goodwill Pop Up Shop is Friday, Dec 14, 11am-7pm.*
